So You Want to Live
in The Cape
Emigrating to South Africa
Capetown on the southern tip of South Africa used to be one of the most popular destinations for people searching for a new life in the sun.  With the ending of apartheid in the early 90s, migration policy became confused and the opportunities for settling in the republic dwindled.  The number of people applying to emigrate there also fell dramatically.  Now, with increased stability and an extremely favourable exchange rate - offering superb property bargains - the country is looking ever more appealing, particularly for retirees.  Colin Marchant has been taking a tour of the Cape region to find out what it has to offer both intending migrants and travellers.
